We have a 17-year history of working with organisations that are changing the world – one day at a time – we love what we do.
Our core team expertise is in marketing, fundraising, brand and communications but we work with a broad range of associates to augment our skills and bring other expertise into projects that need it. Working with associates means that we are able to build teams for each project, without running a big agency and charging high fees.
We build each commission from scratch focussed on the changes you want to see. Even for smaller projects, we focus on the difference you want to make.
If it sounds like our approach might be what you are looking for, please get in touch. We love to chat – and we don’t charge for it.
Who are we? senior consultants helping charities make changes
We were set up by Natasha Roe and Alec Leggat with a vision of delivering quality, bespoke consultancy to charities and social businesses of all sizes. We take a shared approach to each project – with our clients, as a team and, when relevant, between charities and other sources of support.
Our regular collaborators include experts in change management, IT and digital strategy, business modelling, governance, PR, prospect research and graphic design – we even know a semiotician!
The values that guide all our work and the impact we can deliver are – collaborative, experienced and fair.
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, considered citizens can change the world. Indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” (Mary Meade)
Our Services
We are big on working collaboratively with our associates and wider networks so this list is representative. If you think we could help with your project please get in touch – we’re always happy to chat!

“We commissioned Red Pencil to comprehensively review our approach to fundraising and communications,
in light of numerous unsuccessful funding bids, a disinterested membership and a key message that was confusing. Red Pencil’s work, particularly the outputs and tools provided, have given us independent and impartial evidence to support the changes we need to make and a solid position from which to build.”
